A TASTE OF TAUPŌ - This short, but sweet flight gives you the unique experience of a water takeoff and landing in a seaplane, with a bird’s eye view of Taupo’s local geothermal area and Huka Falls. FLIGHT TIME 10 mins
PEEK AT THE LAKE - This flight circuit takes you out of Taupō Bay to discover the true size of New Zealand’s largest lake. Flying along the Northern Bays of the crystal clear water towards Kinloch, before heading back to Taupō via the Wairakei steam field and Huka Falls. FLIGHT TIME 20 mins
WESTERN EXPLORER - There is no faster or better way to explore New Zealand’s largest Lake. This trip takes you to the most secluded and picturesque part of Lake Taupō. Be amazed by the crystal clear water and towering volcanic cliffs of the Western Bays before flying back to Taupō via the Wairakei steam field and Huka Falls.
ORAKEI KORAKO - Why drive when you can fly to this geothermal paradise. Experience a water landing on the Waikato River before stepping off the plane to take a walk around the amazing silica terraces, steaming geysers, boiling mud pools and geothermal cave of Orakei Korako, situated amongst lush New Zealand bush. Rejoin the Floatplane afterwards for your return trip to Taupō via the Wairakei steam field and Huka Falls. FLIGHT TIME 2 hours 15 mins
MT RUAPEHU SCENIC - Our most popular flight takes you the length of Lake Taupō, climbing up to 10,000 feet to take a look into the active crater lake of New Zealand’s highest volcano – Mount Ruapehu. On the way, view the Tama Lakes, Mount Ngauruhoe, the Emerald Lakes and many craters that make up Mount Tongariro. These breathtaking views never fail to please. FLIGHT TIME 1 hour
LAKES OF ROTORUA - Head north towards the Lakes of Rotorua, overflying the Green and Blue Lakes, Buried Village and Lake Tarawera before climbing to the summit of Mount Tarawera to view the massive fissure formed during the 1886 eruption. On the way home wonder at the sacred waters of Wai-O-Tapu and Orakei Korako geothermal areas. We offer you the option of a landing to take a walk around the silica terraces, steaming geysers and boiling mud pools of Orakei Korako (see website for details), before continuing back to Taupō.
WHITE ISLAND - Follow the Taupō Volcanic Zone north past the massive fissures of Mount Tarawera to New Zealand’s only active marine volcano located 50 kilometres off the coast of the Bay of Plenty. Take a look from above into the active crater and remains of old sulphur mines. Return to Taupō via the Lakes of Rotorua, Rotorua City and Orakei Korako geothermal area. We offer you the option of a landing to take a walk around the silica terraces, steaming geysers and boiling mud pools of Orakei Korako (see website for more details), before continuing back to Taupō.
