Māui's Flock (Te Pōkai a Māui)

Join Māui’s flock on an engaging bird-watching safari led by storyteller Jeffrey Addison, where participants bring their own bird puppets and embark on a unique wildlife adventure. This interactive experience offers a chance to encounter a diverse collection of stuffed birds, listen to their authentic calls and songs, and learn about the natural habitats and conservation challenges these birds face, including the impact of taxidermy.

Booking is essential to join this guided bird safari. Reserve your place by contacting jaddison@taupo.govt.nz or calling 07 376 0414. Please note, the event is weather dependent.

Free entry is available for Taupo locals, while a small fee applies for visitors from out of town.

This bird-watching event is independently organised by Taupo Museum and co-marketed by The One Taupo Trust as part of the Taupo Winter Festival.
