Mosaic Lamp Workshop that will take you on an unforgettable journey through the colourful and radiant world of handmade mosaic lamps. Whether you’re just starting out or already an artist, our expert instructors will help you hone your skills and introduce new techniques to expand your creativity. Art Masterclass, New Zealand’s first studio to teach traditional Turkish mosaic lamp making, offers this 2.5-hour class where you’ll learn the techniques of this 500-year-old craft, including assembling geometric patterns, laying tiles (tesserae), and creating your own traditional Turkish mosaic table lamp using your chosen template. All workshops include a sumptuous Turkish tea service and delicious Turkish delights. You’ll gain skills in design, mosaic techniques, proper use of materials and tools, and colour harmony.
The workshops take place at Taupō Event Centre, 26 A C Baths Avenue, Tauhara, Taupō 3330, on 27 September 11 am and 3 pm.
